Lakes

An attractive walk from the Rosuel refuge in the Ponturin Valley. Along the way, you won’t be able to resist the wild raspberries and bilberries. The lake sits at the foot of the Aliet, an impressive rocky outcrop at more than 3, 000 m

The depth of the water is responsible for the density of its colours. Seen from above, its rectangular shape makes a curious contrast with the shape of the mountains which surround it on all sides. Your eyes will settle on the enormous glacier, les Platières, and on the many chamois grazing the last patches of grass below the ridge, not forgetting the marmots that play hide and seek with the hikers.

Also to be seen:

The Lac Vert (1900m)
This lake whose name reflects it colour can be reached on foot. Not far from Plagne Centre, in the Plagne 1800 area, it has picnic tables on its banks to help you enjoy your day.

Just the sort of walk for meeting a herd of cows, and why not a few marmots?

Lac du Carroley (2186 m)
You will be enchanted by the peaceful surroundings to this mountain lake, tucked behind the peak of the Arpette in the Plagne Bellecôte area. Fishing enthusiasts might even be lucky enough to hook the mythical Fario trout. Fishing permit compulsory.

You can reckon on a half-day’s walk there and back.
You can reach the lake on foot along walking route n°19 from Belle Plagne.
